The nudge

The world is slowly waking

Light breeze gently stroking my hair

Fresh warm air on my skin

Cars in the streets

All going somewhere

The sense of movement

While I am sitting still

The nudge is getting stronger

Even stronger than before

It’s about this time of year

When the change appears

But although the nudge is intense

The desire to stay kicks in as well

I never wanted to settle down

But now, for this my heart aches

Is it the roots growing

Into the land of my ancestors

Is it the growing age

That seeks comfort, security and slow pace?

What am I gonna do

I still have no answers

The nudge to leave

Or the desire to stay
