The day I fell in love with Tarot

Different.

That’s what I usually heard as a teenager when someone was asked to describe me. At first, it bothered me as I wanted to be accepted or part of the group. Later, I learnt that what others mean by “different” doesn’t necessarily mean a bad thing.

All in all, I was different.

I’ve always been drawn to the unusual, supernatural, the moon and the stars. Growing up in the rural area, everything coming from nature, divination, numbers, spells and all things magic were very popular then. No wonder why I got so attracted to Tarot.

I remember the feeling when I received my very first deck of Tarot cards. It seems like yesterday. The moment I touched the box I could feel very intensive energy radiating from the cards through the palm of my hand and fingers. It felt as if reunited with an old friend I hadn’t seen for ages. In that very moment I knew. Tarot was not going to be a pastime activity to kill boredom nor would it serve as a cheap promotion of myself in the public. I knew that the cards were sent to me to first help me evolve, step into my full powers and start following my life path but also offer my skills and knowledge to others and support their personal development.

It’s been the most amazing journey of my life thus far. Although I used to travel a lot to foreign countries, I never really found the “thing” that would make me say “This is it, that’s the place, that’s how I want to spend the rest of my life.” Not until I decided to embark on a journey to discover my inner self and what it means to live a life of purpose. Tarot served as my guide, the best friend I had at that time offering advice, not judging yet showing precisely where I lacked and what should be worked on. It showed me hope and brighter days, it helped me go through the dark days with optimism that better days were just around the corner. And they were.

To me, Tarot readings are much more than just a sequence of cards predicting possible future. They’re a pathway to self-mastery, a road to your highest self. They’re mystical, philosophical, spiritual, esoteric. They’ll lead you to the very core of our existence, the truth. And truth will set us free, following the words of Jesus.
